Darts Farm Food is Fun Teepees at the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink
Explore Exeter’s bountiful natural larder in the Dart’s Farm Food is Fun teepees this May Bank Holiday weekend. They’ll be open for visitors to the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink to explore, and home to an exciting line-up of events.
Budding chefs will have the chance to get involved during the making and baking workshops, which are centred around the wood-fired oven and involve everything from sausage making and pizza creating to cupcake decorating.
If you’re looking to rub shoulders with a celebrity or two, the AGA Cookery Theatre will be hosting Saturday Kitchen’s wine expert Susy Atkins, who will be leading a tasting session. Meanwhile Peter Gordon will be sharing tips on utilising seasonal ingredients, and barbecue know-how will be provided by writer Marcus Bawdon.
The whole family is invited to enjoy the teepees, with young ones invited to meet the chickens of the Black Dog Eggs farm, and even become a Mini Darts Farmer and create a mini vegetable patch to return home with.
If you’re feeling peckish, teepee-based chefs will be treating visitors to the likes of slow-cooked pulled pork and succulent steak sandwhiches, made using beef from Darts Farm’s own ruby red cattle.
When asked about the festival, Darts Farm director, Michael Dart shared:
“It is that time of year again and we are very excited to be delivering the Darts Farm Food is Fun teepees at the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink, having been involved in the festival since the beginning! We are fortunate to live in a region so rich in artisan food producers and it is always fantastic working with them and some of the best chefs in the South West.”
We’re excited too, Michael!
