Bakewell Food Festival
Saturday April 29 2017to Sunday April 30 2017
This year’s food festival, in the pretty market town of Bakewell, is set to be a bonanza of fresh produce, scrumptious dishes and drinks to get you in the mood for summer. Over 60 stalls will be popping up to fill the charming streets of this historic, riverside town, with the focus being on local businesses and showcasing the best of Derbyshire food and drink.
Discounts and free tastings will be on offer in a number of Bakewell’s independent retail outlets and there will also be a variety of road shows and cookery demonstrations, while for the children, donkey and pony rides will be running throughout the weekend.
The Old House Museum and historic church will be flinging their doors open and there will be craft and gift fairs popping up in various venues in and around the town. Just to add the cherry on the cake, Bakewell’s monthly farmers’ market will be held on the Saturday, so there will be even more choice, and visitors can get a real feel for what Bakewell is all about – and it’s much more than just those cakes!
