Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink
Saturday April 29 2017to Monday May 01 2017
Exeter’s festival of South West Food & Drink will bring the best Devonshire producers and top regional chefs together this April for one of the tastiest weekends in the foodie calendar. If you’ve ever been before you’ll know all about its impressive line up of exhibitors, master classes, musicians and more. It’s safe to say after 14 years, the organisers know a thing or two about putting on a good show!
Tom Kerridge will be taking to the Cookery Theatre stage on the Sunday to demo and is part of a strong line-up of 7 Michelin-starred chefs attending the Festival this year.
The festival is located in the historic Northernhay Gardens and Exeter Castle grounds. Over 100 producers will be ready to give you the chance to try, buy and chat about the foods you love. You’ll be bowled over by the West Country produce on offer – the luscious cheeses, refreshing ciders, creams and farmhouse-baked breads among the goodies. You can expect incredible things from the chef demonstrations too, which will feature two-Michelin-starred chef and co-founder of the festival, Michael Caines MBE. In fact there will be so many culinary experts taking to the stage it’s worth taking a little notepad with you to scribble down all their fantastic recipes. Head chefs from renowned restaurants such as Steve Groves from Roux, Ben Bulger from River Cottage and Andy Appleton from Fifteen have all performed here.
If you’re looking for an energetic and exciting end to your evening you’ll be glad to hear the increasingly popular Festival After Dark Party Nights will return. You can dance the night away to a whole host of local musicians and bands and get a real taste of the West Country cider, beer and wine. When you’re feeling a bit peckish there will be some lip-smackingly good street food to enjoy too.
As if that wasn’t enough, there’s even more foodie fun to get involved in and discover when you get there – look out for live music, food themed events and competitions.
Without further ado, get yourself, your family and your friends down to Exeter this April for one of the best festivals in the South West.
