You've missed this event
Derry in Northern Ireland will be hosting the appropriately named LegenDerry Food Fest, a three-day event of entertainment, excitement, and fantastic local food.
Taking place in two main locations – the Guildhall Square and the Festival Marquee – you can be sure to find something for you at this event. You might decide to start at the Guildhall LegenDerry Food Fair, a market with opportunities to try and buy all kinds of delicious authentic produce from across Northern Ireland, especially the northwest region where Derry resides. The selection of artisan foodstuffs is delightful, and you’re sure to find great bargains if you explore the stalls.
There are a host of activities for all the family, including live music performance from several local bands, cookery talks and masterclasses, kids craft activities, badge making, face painting, cupcake decorating and balloon modelling. On top of all that, you might get a chance to meet Magella Lousing, a hilarious celebrity chef parody who will have you in stitches.
The festival is the brainchild of several local chefs from outstanding restaurants. Many of them will be giving demonstrations in the Cookery Theatre, such as BBC Radio Ulster’s Paula McIntyre, RTE’s ‘no salt chef’ Brian McDermott, and Queen’s Quay Social chefs Zsolt Dikter and Eamon Downey Jr., alongside celebrity guests Neven Maguire and Rachel Allen.
