Locating you...

With food festivals lacking at this time of year us food lovers are often left feeling a bit sad. How many cakes can we really keep baking? How many times a day can we walk the dogs before even they get tired?

If you’re left feeling empty without those free samples to fill up your weekends and the kids are getting bored of the same old places look no further. There are plenty of farm shops in the South West that have a whole heap of artisan goods to keep you satisfied.

Trevaskis Farm, Hayle

This beautiful farm is the perfect place to visit: whether you're a local or if you're visiting Cornwall. They have all the best artisan food on site and it is truely a brilliant day out, with lots to see for all the family. From a butchers to a bakers, stock up fantastic food to have a true Cornish feast.

Farrington’s Farm Shop and Café

Nestled between Bristol and Wells is Farrington’s, a family run farm shop that stays true to its roots. Here they serve homemade and home grown food in the café and fill their shop with a whole range of fresh, local, artisan products. Over 300 of the products are made on site. They were voted the best local farm shop in the 2016 Bristol Food Awards. Since opening in 1991 the farm has gone from selling a few bits of veg to having a farm shop, café, play area and shopping village on site. They are the ideal place to take the kids and pick up some fantastic local produce!

Darts Farm

Darts Farm is an absolute gem near Exeter that won the 2016 Farm Shop and Deli Awards. It is a working farm that sells their meat, game and harvested goods in the farm shop and cooks it in their restaurant. If they can’t supply it they find a local farm that can. During apple pressing season you can hear the traditional cider making machine and watch them pressing the apples. Darts Farm offers so much more than your traditional farm shop – if you’ve had your fill of food you can look round for some gifts or home products in the other on site shops instead. Or perhaps visit the spa for a beauty treatment.
