Clovelly Seaweed Festival
Sunday May 27 2018

You've missed this event

This hugely popular festivals returns for its second year to introduce many of us to an ingredient not commonly used in our own home cooked dishes. Well that’s all going to change at Clovelly, where you will be amazed at the wonderful world of seaweed. Experts from The Seaweed Health Foundation will be introducing (or re-familiarising) you with the vital nutritional and health benefits seaweed can bring to your diet. And if you’re still a bit confused by it all then chef demonstrations and especially the surprising variety of dishes the quay kitchen will have on offer will open your eyes to the versatility of seaweed. The quaint village of Clovelly is beautiful to take a stroll around and you’ll come across many street entertainers throughout the day. Live music will fill the streets and so will an exhibition by the Marine Biological Association titled ‘Amazing World of Algae’. Children will have their very own interactive workshop to get involved in. For those who like to get creative the National Trust will be holding some craft making sessions too. If you’re lucky enough to live close the coast yourself, The Clovelly Seaweed Festival encourages to BYO and ask the experts how best you can use it.
