Drum Castle Food & Craft Fair
Saturday October 07 2017to Sunday October 08 2017
Drum Castle Food & Craft Fair is set in the grounds of the oldest Scottish building which remains intact in the whole country. With this beautiful and historic backdrop the fair itself will be like a wonderful medieval bazaar with stalls selling all kinds of desirable food and drinks whilst craftsmen and women will be creating unique and intricate products for all to admire.
In the grounds of the iconic Drum Castle, you will find an eclectic range of fine arts, crafts and foods that have been handmade by local producers and those further afield across Scotland. This will include some amazing and unique jewellery - the perfect stocking filler if you’re starting your Christmas shop. However, if you’re feeling a bit arty yourself, there will be plenty producers hard at work handcrafting their bespoke products whilst you peruse the stalls. This will be your chance to “meet the makers” and maybe they’ll even let you have a go!
Soon enough it will be about time to check out the edible fancies on offer. A range of sweet and savoury treats including gluten free cakes and chocolates, homemade marshmallows, fudge, tablet, preserves and cheeses will all be too tempting to ignore. You can buy many plants and herbs at the festival too and the gardeners of Drum will be on hand to give you any advice on growing your own ingredients for home cooking.
You can take advantage of the Food & Craft Fair’s location by exploring the castle which is included in the £4 entrance price. On the newly renovated first floor you’ll find an exhibition by Aberdeen’s Art Gallery but it’s definitely worth taking a stroll around the grounds too which boast an impressive walled garden of historic roses and ancient oak woodlands.
So saunter over to Drum Castle this October for the fabulous Food and Craft Festival, there’s something for everyone whether you’re a foodie, history buff, nature lover, gardener, shopaholic or just want a lovely day out with the family.
