The Good Life Experience
Friday September 14 2018to Sunday September 16 2018
Now in its fifth year, The Good Life Experience on the Hawarden Estate, Flintshire is absolutely unique. Founded by four friends back in 2014 –Cerys Matthews MBE, Steve Abbott and Charlie and Caroline Gladstone- if it fits in with their idea of The Good Life, it features at the festival. The idea is that guests leave the festival inspired and energised, rather than exhausted and empty pocketed. The founders’ aim is to create a weekend of genuine fun and discovery that is aimed at the curious minded.
Expect to pitch your tent in the shadow of two castles, great locally produced food, axe throwing, foraging, an incredible line-up of campfire cooking sessions with world class chefs from Thomasina Miers to Jose Pizarro, mass sing-a-longs, over 40 expert craftspeople giving workshops and sharing their passions, beer served by experts, talks by explorers, a dog show, a canine circus, raucous music all hand picked by Cerys (who has the most listened to show on UK digital radio), abseiling, a free 1930s fairground, tree climbing, butchery displays, poetry, literature – including a talk from former Children's Laureate Michael Rosen- and endless How To… talks. All under 12s go free, and everything is aimed at adults and children alike; there aren’t many festivals that truly do that.
