North East Vegan Festival
Sunday September 03 2017
You've missed this event
Calling all vegans, vegetarians and omnivores, the North East Vegan Festival is on the horizon and, as always, promises a nutritious day of great foods, ethical products and entertainment for you to get involved in.
Whether you have a vegan vision or you’re just curious to see the wide range of healthy choices that you could be feasting on or creating at home, NEVFest has something for everyone. There will be over 100 stalls selling delectable food and drinks, healthcare and beauty products which you can guarantee have come from natural sources. Vegan chocolates, handmade cheeses, sizzling sausages, succulent burgers, fresh fruits and vibrant vegetables are just some of tasty treats on offer.
But what would all these ingredients be without a delicious dish to put them in? That’s why local chefs will be performing live cooking demonstrations to share with you some new recipe ideas. One of last year’s favourites was sea spaghetti, a fusion of thongweed, carrots, leeks and citrus fruits.
At the heart of the festival lies an interesting and informative message, so it’s worth making some time to attend one of the talks or workshops throughout the day. You can discuss a range of foodie issues from the ethics of products which have a negative impact on animals and the environment, to the top tips on how to live and maintain a healthier lifestyle.
But the fun doesn’t end there; rather unique for a food festival, NEVFest will have a cinema room and a fashion show in case the mood for a movie or some clothes shopping takes you. On top of this there will be some live music acts, a craft fair and children’s activities to entertain all ages throughout the day.
If you like the sound of NEVFest, you’re going to love the fact that your £2 entry fee will go the Farplace Animal Rescue. So come and have a lovely day out, indulge in a spectacular selection of food and drinks and help your local charity.
