Oxford’s Broad Street will be filled with the sweet choral music of a Christmas choir, interspersed with brass bands playing favourite festive tunes this December. We Three Kings always gets me in the mood for Christmas; that and pootling around a festive fair, persuading my friends to come for a mulled wine alfresco , every week until Christmas, no matter what the weather. I’m sure many of you will be doing the same, and Oxford really does put on a good show.

I love buying a new wooden decoration for my tree every year: it has to be handcrafted and it has to be from a Christmas market. That’s exactly the kind of thing you’ll find here. Handmade glass jewellery (great present for mum), fantastic local cheese for dad, and the kids always run to the vintage merry go round. There’s the traditional churros stalls for those dreamy, stodgy treats served with chocolate or cinnamon (my favourite), German bratwurst, a hog roast and plenty of mulled wine stalls.

We’ll be there with bells on this year.

Sunday 17th December open from 10am-6pm
