Sedgley Real Ale & Beer Festival
Friday September 22 2017to Saturday September 23 2017
Returning once again to the Jubilee Scouts Hall, Sedgley Real Ale and Beer Festival is fast becoming a feature of Dudley’s calendar year – bringing with it a range of over 35 ales to choose from. This year sees the addition of cider and wine to the offering, along with spectacular live entertainment to keep drinkers rolling on.
A ticket price of ten pounds includes eight pounds worth of drink tickets, a souvenir pint glass, and to top it all off, all proceeds go directly to Children in Need – what could be better than tasting great beers for a good cause?
2016’s festival saw over 6,000 pints of ale consumed in just 17 hours, and with plans for expansion again next year promises even more excitement. Bands such as ‘Starving Dogs’, and Ben and Alun Davies brought rock ‘n’ roll covers from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s; while the Sedgley Ukulele Strummers brought their own unique brand of fun to the proceedings. Let’s hope we see the 1st Sedgley Morris Men returning next year, providing the event with the much-loved razzle dazzle of the traditional English dance.
The wealth of breweries displaying their ales at this festival makes it a true event that is not to be missed. The Midlands in particular is a fine producer of real ales, and that is properly displayed at this fine little event.
